Investigative Equipment
Below is a list of equipment we use on paranormal investigations whether private or public. We aim to use a good mixture of scientific and spiritual measures to investigate each location, and to help provide evidence of ghosts or hauntings.
We hold "alone" time at each event, and you are welcome to use the equipment to conduct your own experiments.
Ovilus 3
The Ovilus 3 uses several different methods to communicate activity. A built in thermometer with corresponding LEDs picks up any change in the ambient atmosphere. The device also picks up EMF and various frequencies which is converted to a 2000 word dictionary. Using the phonetic voice mode can deliver some startling results, this is a must have on all of our investigations.
Digital Voice Recorder
EVP or Electronic Voice Phenomenon is always fantastic evidence at any ghost investigation. We run the recorder several times on investigations, sometimes by itself in an active room, or sometimes in a question and answer session with an investigator.
"K2" EMF Detector
The "K2" EMF detector can detect anomalies and changes in electromagnetic fields. Very useful on investigations for debunking "creepy" feelings - sometimes faulty wiring can pump EMF out, but also picking up genuine paranormal activity by measuring responses to questions or unexplainable jumps in levels where there should be none.
Laser Grid
The laser grid is used on ghost investigations to pick up movement in areas too dark to see. Placed facing the end of a dark hallway can produce some impressive movement detection, things that you would be unable to see in the pitch black.
Spirit/Franks Box
The spirit box rapidly scans through radio frequencies to produce a continual white noise. Supposedly spirits can try to manipulate the noise to produce words and to communicate and answer questions. This is always an interesting experiment when properly shielded to prevent external radio stations being picked up.
Twist Torch
Apart from the obvious, the twist torch allows for some fascinating moments at investigations. The torch can be placed either by trigger objects or somewhere within the room, which the spirit can then turn on or off in response to questions. We have had several excellent responses with this, and it essential to bring each time anyway!
As well as the above devices, we do use various spiritual means of communication as well. On all events we try methods such as table tipping, mediumship and the use of Ouija boards. If you do feel uncomfortable using any of these methods (mainly the Ouija board), then please do let us know, we won't make anyone do anything they feel uneasy doing.
